What is a TPI (Third-Party Intermediary)?

A TPI - or Third-Party Intermediary - is an organisation such as an energy broker or consultant that helps businesses find and manage energy contracts. TPIs act as the link between energy suppliers and customers, providing advice, comparing deals, and arranging contracts on behalf of clients.

At CEB Consultants, we take our role as a TPI seriously. While the energy broker market is currently unregulated, this unfortunately means some brokers take advantage of the lack of oversight by hiding commissions or tying businesses into unsuitable contracts.

CEB Consultants operates with full transparency and integrity. Our fees are always clear and explained upfront, and we are committed to building long-term trust with every customer we work with.

To demonstrate our professionalism and accountability, we are proud members of:

  • RECCo (Retail Energy Code Company)

  • The Energy Ombudsman

We also voluntarily adhere to the RECCo Code of Conduct. This is a set of best-practice standards designed to ensure brokers act fairly, transparently, and in the best interest of customers. While many in the industry have not yet adopted this code, we believe it is important to lead by example.

We also welcome any future regulations Ofgem may introduce for TPIs, as we believe tighter rules will raise standards across the industry and better protect customers.

With CEB Consultants, you can be confident you’re working with a trusted broker who puts your business first.
