What Solar Owners Need to Know About Export Payment Options

PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) vs SEG (Smart Export Guarantee):

Businesses with larger solar systems are increasingly finding that SEG no longer works in practice, as suppliers are pushing back on applications above 50 kWp. For sites exporting more than 50,000 kWh a year, PPAs offer higher, more reliable income with fixed rates, REGO benefits, and long-term stability. Going into 2026, PPAs have become the clear choice for maximising returns and protecting against sudden policy or supplier changes.

If you’re unsure which option suits your site, our experts can review your setup and advise on the best route.
